I am a 71 year old woman. I was diagnosed with Hirschsprung disease in 1963,in the Netherlands at the age of 15 after suffering from constipation and bloating all my life.
I had the pull through operation , I kept having constipation, adjusted my diet to high fiber, vegetarian from age 21 till 39. I moved to the States in 1987 and had a bowel obstruction in 1997 . followed by a removal of the total large intestines. I then had 10 wonderful years of being able to eat whatever i liked, although I always have had a diet full of vegetables and chicken and fish. In 2007 the nausea and constipation came back, diagnosis gastro-paresis or idopathic bowel problems. For the last 12 years i am using a homeopathic pill and magnesium to help with constipation. A glass of white wine helps with the nausea, but I am constantly bloated and have a heavy feeling of pressure (like wearing a corset) in my stomach. I have never been able to find any information on adult patients. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks for reading Christa
